A little boy in Munich has found a friend in a squirrel as it visits his family every day for lunch and evening snacks. Maxi, 10, named the squirrel Madame, and also built a little wooden table and two chairs for it in his balcony. That wasn’t just it as Maxi also placed a tiny beer mug and a plate for savouries for Madame.
In the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, Maxi utilised his free time to build the table for the squirrel. Madame’s menu for lunch includes nuts, seeds and raisins as the German family sets its tiny plate with the treats ahead of its arrival every day.
Maxi’s family said that Madame also enjoys sunflower seeds. “It comes by every day. Sometimes, even twice. In the morning and in the evening. Sometimes, at lunch time. Its preferred dish is sunflower seeds which it sucks up like a vacuum cleaner. It also loves hazelnuts and walnuts as well as raisins,” his family said in a video tweeted by Reuters.
The video has gone viral on Twitter with over one lakh views while netizens wrote about it in the comments section.
“Squirrels are really friendly. If you have food in your hand, they’ll come to you. Try it. I guarantee you it will and it’ll come back because they’re smart,” a comment read.
